GUILD Fellows Program

Description:

The fellow’s program consists of a breakfast session before the main program on each day of the GUILD conference. This is a unique opportunity for networking and mentoring with world-class faculty from diverse fields within gastroenterology and hepatology. This is also an opportunity to network with other fellows from all over the country. These sessions have a casual atmosphere with a fellow-directed agenda. Discussion topics have included career planning, the job search, job negotiations, and transitioning from trainee to attending.

Diverse Career Plans Among Participating Fellows:

  • Academic
  • Private Practice
  • Hybrid Practice
  • General Gastroenterology
  • Pediatric Gastroenterology

  • Advanced Fellowships
  • Undecided

General Guidelines:

  • Fellows get priority over residents, but residents may apply.
  • A letter of recommendation from your Program Director confirming your fellowship status in good standing is mandatory.
  • A letter of recommendation from your mentor or other faculty is voluntary but highly recommended.
  • Encore submissions are permitted.

What Is Provided:

  • $500 airfare stipend.
  • Four nights hotel at the Wailea Marriott.
  • Complimentary registration for the meeting and events.
  • Daily mentoring breakfast.

What Is Expected:

  • Attend all four days of the meeting including the breakfasts.
  • Present a poster of your research abstract.

Rules:

  • You can only win a stipend once.
  • GUILD will accept a maximum of two recipients from each institution annually.
